If reports are to be believed then Shiv Sena is divided over BJP alliance. The differences within Shiv Sena are glaring apparent just before the Lok Sabha elections. Shiv Sena is divided over BJP alliance : two clear factions have formed
However, the Shiv Sena is divided over BJP alliance. If popular reports are believed then two factions have emerged in the party. One faction wants to stay in the alliance while one to call it quits. Both factions see clear benefits with the choices they are endorsing. No one wants to compromise and this is posing a problem for the top leadership.
The formation of the two factions
Shiv Sena is divided over BJP alliance especially after Amit Shah has made it clear that he will not be bending to unreasonable demands. He has also made it clear that he won’t be doing it even to keep the alliance intact. This has led to the feeling that BJP led National Democratic Alliance does not value Shiv Sena enough. The faction who feels so has been very vocal about what they feel about Amit Shah’s statement. The faction which is pro-BJP has maintained a “no response” policy over the issue.
The anti-BJP voices of the party are led Sanjay Raut and Ramdas Kadam. Kadam has made a statement to media where he said, “They (BJP) have already lost elections miserably in five states. Don’t come to Maharashtra and threaten us or we will bury you. Don’t forget that we won 63 seats despite the (Modi) wave”. Sanjay Raut has gone to the extent of calling BJP a “stalking roadside Romeo”.
What Amit Shah said –
The attacks have become even more prominent after Amit Shah’s visit to Lathur where he asked the party workers to prepare for solo elections. The BJP president had said, “If an alliance takes place, our preparation will be helpful to our partner’s candidates. Don’t think of whether the alliance with Sena will happen or not. Prepare to fight alone.”
Whatever happens to be BJP’s final choice, clearly Shiv Sena is divided over BJP alliance. This will definitely make the upcoming elections more fire filled.
